Dr. Samuel Bigley

Dr. Samuel Bigley, born and raised in Scottdale, attended Mount Carmel Christian School in Mt. Pleasant, PA.  He graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.   He completed the Accelerated Scholars Program and went on to earn a Doctorate in Optometry at Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  Dr. Bigley trained at the VA Hospital in central PA, Indian Health Services Clinic in Idaho, and the Eye Institute in Philadelphia.

Dr. Bigley specializes in the management of ocular diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease.  He also co-manages LASIK/PRK and cataract surgery. 

Dr. Bigley serves his profession as a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Optometric Association.  He has served as the Scottdale Kiwanis president for five years and is active in supporting various local projects and charities.

Dr. Bigley enjoys hiking, outdoors activities, and Pittsburgh sports teams.  He values the importance of getting to know each of his patients on a personal level while accommodating all of their eye care needs.  Dr. Bigley looks forward to meeting you and your family!

Dr. Timothy H. Needle

Dr. Tim Needle joined Bigley Eyecare Associates in 2017. Dr. Needle performs comprehensive medical, refractive, and contact lens examinations for all ages. His areas of expertise include treating glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease as well as managing ocular manifestations of systemic disease including diabetes and hypertension.

Dr. Needle is licensed to practice optometry to the highest level in Pennsylvania with full diagnostic, therapeutic, and glaucoma privileges. He is a 2000 graduate of Washington and Jefferson College and a 2004 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Dr. Needle earned clinical honors in Pediatrics and Low Vision Rehabilitation.

Dr. Barbara R. Porter

Dr. Barbara Porter Domenico joined Bigley Eyecare Associates in 2003 and enjoys seeing patients of all ages.  She is licensed to treat glaucoma and ocular disease with therapeutics.  

Dr. Porter grew up in Scottdale and was the valedictorian of her class at Southmoreland High School.  She graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  Dr. Porter received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  She completed a hospital internship at the Wilkes Barre VA Medical Center and an ocular disease internship at the Laurel Eye Clinic.

Dr. Porter is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Western Pennsylvania Optometric Society, where she served two years on the board of directors.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and family, boating at Deep Creek Lake in Maryland, and genealogy.
